Remixed Painting Art Beppe Ranica, fascinated by America, by the Beat Generation of the 50s, by the pop-art of the 60s and by the hippie culture of the 70s, are decades of extreme artistic, cinematographic and musical ferment and it is from these fields that he finds original and completely new to his creations.
"Freak Portraits" conveys the idea of an art that is transformed into unique and customizable works that do not know globalization and that dare to define a space by giving life to material emotions.
Beppe Ranica actually comes from the fashion sector, from the need to constantly change the display of the windows of his boutiques, without ever repeating himself, his inventiveness and originality was born, linked to the passion for modernism and for the years from the 50s to '80.
After 30 years in the field of clothing as style and production manager of the sportswear collections of the Nadia Fassi brand, a wider world opens up and Beppe's creativity is wisely freed also in his new pictorial sculptures.
Each work originates from a careful search for archive images that have a story to tell. Once the subject has been chosen, it is first "graphically worked, merged with different images" and digitally printed (on fabrics chosen for the occasion, damask, canvas), and once framed, the second phase of the work begins. With the use of flat or thick acrylic paint and the application of jewel accessories, brooches, chains, rhinestones, glitter glues and leaves of various shades, from gold to silver, from copper to bronze, it is "repersonalized" with the addition sometimes accessories that identify the subject, cassettes, vinyls etc ...
Not just famous people ... Beppe begins to work on portraits by chance, starting with his daughter Asya, an exceptional mini-model; from here others are commissioned that are personalized, emphasizing the character, nature and spirit of those who are portrayed.
